Independent Advocacy Project (IAP) is a non partisan, non-governmental advocacy group established in Nigeria and registered in 2004 as a not-for-profit organisation.

Its promoters include human rights and governance advocates, lawyers and student activists, many of whom participated actively in the decades of struggle against military rule in Nigeria.

Says IAP Director Adedeji Adeleye: 'Good governance is a political and institutional environment, based on respect for democratic principles, the rule of law, human rights civil society participation.'  IAP has no affiliation with any political party or institution, any religion or religious sect.
