Independent Advocacy Project (IAP) is a non partisan, non-governmental advocacy group established in 2002 in Nigeria and registered as a not-for-profit organisation.

Its promoters include human rights and good governance advocates, lawyers and student activists, many of whom participated actively in the decades of struggle against military rule in Nigeria.

Says IAP Director Temitope Johnson: 'Good governance is a political and institutional environment, based on respect for democratic principles, the rule of law, human rights civil society participation.'  IAP has no affiliation with any political party or institution, any religion or religious sect.
